What happens when you fall and bend this hanger? How do you straighten it? Currently my bike shop just pops it off and uses their hanger alignment tool. Can this also be done? And if so what is the difference? All I can see is that shimano wants in on the hanger market. Sitting at mc donalds having a coffee on my way to a race. Great reading/getting pumped material. 
28lbs? They would have to strap a Madone to it, just to weigh the same as my dh bike.
